“Public Policies for Sustainable Museum Development in Europe”

Join us at the ICOM Europe Annual Conference in Lahti, Finland, on November 18th, 2023, as we explore the role of public policies in driving sustainable development in European museums.

In recent years, European museums have been at the forefront of sustainability initiatives. They’ve adopted proactive strategies, redefined their roles, and engaged their audiences, all against the backdrop of a changing world. The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the museum landscape, emphasizing the need for resilience and innovation.

Our conference aims to dissect the impact of national public policies on museums throughout Europe. We want to understand how these policies effectively support museums and whether the resources allocated are sufficient.

We invite members of ICOM Europe, including presidents of national committees or their representatives, to share their insights and experiences. Your participation will help us build a comprehensive understanding of the diverse forms of support for national policies and their real-world impact.
